Also on her backyard shed: facia boards, Metal wrap, gutters, downspout, ABS pipe, & roof cleaning. From: "Kathy Dunbar" <pkde@wwdb.o*g> Subject: My Review Date: March 26 2019 David Rich and his business enterprises, DMR Gutters and Copper By Design, are a rare find in the world of craftsmen and service providers. After several frustrating, negative and expensive failed attempts by two other gutter companies and a roofing company to hopefully solve and repair my gutter problems, David quickly and accurately, it turned out, assessed the cause of the problems and how to fix the situation. His approach was much more honest and forthright than others I had been dealing with, which was and is very gratefully appreciated being an older widow. David came to my house, got on my roof, actually showed and explained to me what the problem was and how it could be corrected. After reading through his very informative website and especially the pertinent parts pertaining to my situation, after viewing many of the extensive photos on his website, and reading his statements of personal and business integrity, I was certain that I had found the right person for the job. And I was definitely not disappointed! I also decided to have David add soffits to my house. For years, I’ve been looking at exposed rafter tails and the dirty underside of the eaves, especially unsightly above my wrap-around deck. David very thoroughly explained what he could provide and showed me examples of the process and potential products to choose from. Adding soffits and fascia boards would be a major investment and, because initially I only needed to solve the problems with leaking and ineffective gutters, I needed to be sure that adding soffits and the additional expense was wise. David was extremely patient and answered all of my many questions and concerns over time in e-mails and on the phone. He even encouraged me to visit his shop to see his work in progress, which I did…a fascinating visit. I never felt rushed or dismissed for asking many detailed questions which has happened in the past with other service providers I’ve contacted or worked with.
After seeing the expert work David did on my house, I also had him
add gutters to my fairly large shed. This is something I have
desired for many years to have done to prevent unsightly mud
splatters on the walls of the shed and eliminate the damaged, spider
web infested edges of the roof. In the past, every contractor and
gutter person I talked with had discouraged and dissuaded me from
doing this because of a lack of shed eaves, saying it would be too
difficult to accomplish. David said, “Sure, it can be done” and the
end result is beauty and excellent water management around my shed
for a very reasonable price. Best Gutter Replacement Project 2019 (Oregon): Kathy Dunbar House.

Wynn -
$4.8k |
Eleanor Wynn had found my web site and contacted me back on 9/07 wanting a bid for copper gutters for an added feng shui, but found the cost to be a bit over her budget, so 9 months later she place her 1/3 deposit to secure her spot on my schedule for an aluminum gutter replacement with Weathered Bronze color for an artificial aged copper look. I needed to installed an extra wide drip-edge flashing I made from 6" wide aluminum strips. To cover the ugly rafter tails I made some 10' long custom fascia metal section with the same painted aluminum as the gutters to look like 2x6 boards. Since she has such a rough split cedar shake roof she opted to go without the leaf screens at this time, but she did want the double outlets on each of the 4 corners, so the debris does not have to go around the corners, and for a good 6 times the outlets volume from what she had originally. She may still have me install a different type of screen later on made by the the same company; that slips in under the wood shakes in stead of the hinged type. |

Patricia Pulliam

$5.7k
|
I had already replaced gutters for her Son; Andrew Pulliam back on 4/07, so this was a fairly simple sale. She had contacted me on 8/9/08 to get a bid for aluminum gutters and a set of the copper ridge caps I make for moss control on her roof. I had a promise start date of 1/22/09, and I managed to get it completed by January 7th, ahead of schedule. final adjusted cost was $340.62 less than the original bid

This house is owned by Park Adams and his wife. I had replaced the gutters on their Daughter's house 10 months earlier, so this was an easy sell. This job had a few complications to deal with before I could mount the new gutters. house was originally built without the benefit of gutters. They had trimmed off the roof edge with this wood crown molding that these style gutters were patterned after to replace this molding. last set of steel gutters were mounted by flimsy straps that were nailed right on top of the roofing, so the gutters were just loosely dangling. You could not see this horizontal wood molding anyway. I had to mount some 2x2 boards just under the molding you see here, so I could mount a sturdy fascia board over this. In stead of painting it I covered this new wood with custom bent fascia metal that was made with the same pre-painted aluminum the gutters were made of in a Heritage Cream color to match their trim paint. It took me over 2 weeks to complete diving over 100 miles each day. I also managed to fit in his next door neighbors White front gutters while there. final adjusted cost was $253.40 less than the original bid, so it was still less even with the extra work.

This house is owned by Jory Olson. We managed to work all this out on-line without having met the client or seeing the house in person. I took about a 100 photos to share with the Jory through this process over e-mail each night, since he worked such long hours we rarely met. Even when I was still there after 8PM working.

This house is owned by Duane Anderson and his wife. These gutters were a satin Forest Green pre-painted aluminum to replace the old steel gutters they had, to match the trim color with Colonial Gray downspouts to match the house paint. $2,642.50 original bid, but the client asked me not to install the screens or the oversized outlets, so that dropped it down to $2,011.75. After I removed the gutters and examined the fascia boards, the client had me add some custom aluminum fascia metal cover on the back side of the house, adding $248 to the contract, for a total of $2,259.75.

$2,182.76 original bid We needed to do some extra work to install the drip-edge flashing that fell out when I removed the gutters. It was installed poorly and upside down. We also added 60' of the 3" ABS sewer pipe to replace the cheap thin walled flex hose that was there. For a Grand total of only $2,934.77.

This house is at owned by a nice couple named Champion. These Leaf Green pre-painted aluminum gutters and downspouts to match their metal roof were to replace the old steel gutters they had with our No-clog advantages we offer plus to pry out all the drip edge roof flashing that was installed badly.
$2,411.75 original bid $188.31 less than the bid. We mounted the gutters lower so the snow loads that will slide off their metal roof will not damage the gutters like they did in the winter of 2004. |
